On Thursday, April 25th the 7th grade students took a field trip to the Kansas State Capitol and Washburn Tech. Some students had never been to the State Capitol before and were excited to take their prior knowledge they learned while creating their Kansas State Capitol Game Boards and share with our tour guide when they would ask questions! One of our tour guides sang the old Kansas songs while he was taking them on their tour, what a treat!!
Students didn't let a little rain damper their time when we got to Washburn Tech! The staff there was flexible and gave us a really great presentation as to what types of career programs are available at Washburn Tech; and allowed 7th grade students to be thinking about their future in possibly becoming a Washburn Tech student. Students were able to see the Health Care, Child Care, Culinary, EMT, and Elderly Care departments on our tour.
