On Friday, December 13th, the boys basketball team played Valley Falls at home. The Panthers came into this game, 1-1, fresh off a loss to Maur Hill looking and to bounce back with a win. The game was tied after the first quarter. They had a great second quarter to put them up 6 at the half. Valley Falls came out strong in the second half going up by 4 and holding that lead for most of the second half. In the fourth quarter RV tied the game, and with 7 seconds left in the game, Trystan Murata hit the game winning three pointer to put them up by 3. With 4 seconds left Valley Falls put up a three pointer, which wouldn’t go in. Valley Falls rebounded the ball and made a layup, but it wasn’t enough because they were down 3 points. The Panthers would hang on to the win, with the final score being 59-58. The leading scorers were Matthew Buskirk and Trystan Murata with 13 points each.
Murata said, “Valley was a tough team, so it was good to pull out a win. We are looking to get another win against Jeff West.”
They will play at Jeff West on Tuesday, December 17th.
