The RVHS FCCLA and JAG-K programs received a grant from Kids Feed Kids and Pete’s Garden. The money is being used to provide free food to the RV community on Wednesday March 12.
The chicken fried rice meal will be available for pick up in front of RVHS from 4-6 pm. Sign up is encouraged, but it isn’t required. However, food will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis.
The meal consists of chicken, chicken fried rice, vegetables and protein balls. Shout out to Dahl Farm for providing all the honey for the protein balls!
To sign up in advance, flyers with a QR code are posted at the schools or use this link: https://tinyurl.com/free-meal. You could also contact Lisa Carbon at carbonl@rv337.org or Monique Litherland at litherlandm@rv337.org.
FCCLA member, Emma Bartley, senior, said that they applied for the grant to help people who are facing food insecurity. Bartley said, “food insecurity is when a family doesn’t have access to meals and struggles to make meals or to purchase food items.”
Make sure to take advantage of this free meal. And thank you to FCCLA and JAG-K for providing it.
