The Talking Books program at the State Library of Kansas would appreciate help in growing their numbers of subscribers. Any Kansan experiencing visual impairment, a physical disability, a reading disability, or any condition that interferes with reading a traditional book is eligible to receive audio or braille books and magazines, free of charge, either through the mail or download. A “competent authority” must certify a person’s eligibility for Talking Books. The federal government has recently expanded the types of professionals who can sign up an eligible person for Talking Books services.
This list includes:
- Doctors
- Nurses
